Apple Supply Chain Analyst Kuo: ‘iPhone 17 Air’ to Boast ‘High-Density’ Battery

Apple Supply Chain Analyst Kuo: ‘iPhone 17 Air’ to Boast ‘High-Density’ Battery

In a blog post today about Apple’s possible foldable iPhone, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the rumored iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with a “high-density” battery.

In a list of the foldable iPhone’s hardware specs, Kuo wrote that it “will use the same high-density battery cells as the ultra-thin iPhone 17.”

Kuo did not offer up any specific Wh/mAh battery capacity figures.

While observers have been concerned that the ultra-thing design of the iPhone Air would result in lower battery life, as a thinner device requires a thinner battery, the handset may still perform quite well in the battery column, thanks to the device using the “high-density battery cells,” Apple’s new power-sipping C1 modem, and the omission of an Ultra Wide camera, which allows more space for a bigger battery.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 Air in September.
