If you live in College Station, TX or the West Valley area of Phoenix, AZ, you can have your new iPhone, AirPods, or AirTags purchased from Amazon delivered via drone in 60 minutes or less.
Amazon has been experimenting with drone deliver for more than a decade, and customers living in one of the above areas can now have more than 60,000 items delivered by drone, as long as the package weighs in at five pounds or less.
The company has now announced that included in the list of drone delivery-eligible items includes iPhones, AirPods, and AirTags. Other electronics are also available for drone delivery, including Samsung Galaxy devices and more.

To get delivery via drone, customers simply select drone delivery at checkout, designate a drop-off location like a driveway or yard, and Amazon’s MK30 drone will handle it from there.
When the drone arrives, it hovers approximately 13 feet above the ground and then “ensures the delivery area is clear of pets, cars, or people before it delivers the package”.
The drone’s perception system can detect and navigate around obstacles that may not be on satellite imagery or that may enter the drone’s vicinity.
Amazon says it will scale the the service to reach more customers in the months and years ahead.
