Apple Seeds macOS Tahoe 26 Release Candidate for Final Testing

Apple on Tuesday seeded the release candidate of macOS Tahoe 26 to developers and public beta testers for testing. The release candidate comes after nine rounds of beta releases.

Registered developers can download the new release candidate through the System Settings app.

Release candidates are usually identical to the final version of the software that will be released to the public provided that no show stopping bugs be found. ‌

macOS Tahoe is set to launch on September 15.

macOS Tahoe features Apple’s Liquid Glass redesign, adds new features to Spotlight, brings the Phone and Journal apps to the Mac for the first time, and includes a new cross-platform Games app. There are also improvements to several of the built-in macOS apps, including Messages, Safari, and Notes.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any release candidates on their daily driver Mac. Instead, only install release candidates on a device set aside for testing purposes.
