Apple’s 2027 iPhone lineup will be called the “iPhone 20” lineup, not the “iPhone 19” as had been previous expected, according to research firm Omdia.
ETNews reports that Omdia Chief Researcher Heo Moo-yeol, while speaking at a conference in Seoul, claimed Apple is planning to move the launch of its standard iPhone to the first half of the year , and revealed what to expect later in the year.
IApple will launch the “iPhone 18e” and “iPhone 18.”in the first half of 2027. Then the second half of the year will see Apple launch a next-generation iPhone Air, the “iPhone 20 Pro,” the “iPhone 20 Pro Max,” and a second-generation foldable iPhone.
Apple’s plans are said to be part of an attempt on Apple’s part to both reset the iPhone’s naming system, while revitalizing the product lineup in honor of the handset’s 20th anniversary. We have seen Apple make a similar move the iPhone’s 10th anniversary in 2017, when Apple launched the iPhone X (the Roman numeral for 10) alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
