Google is rolling out Gemini AI integration for the Chrome browser on the iPhone and iPad in the United States, reports 9to5Google. The move brings the AI feature parity to mobile Chrome with the desktop versions.
Google teased the built-in Gemini feature for Chrome in iOS back in September, and the feature is now rolling out in the US. You’ll need version 143 installed on your iPhone or iPad. You’ll also need to be signed in to your Google account, have the browser language set to English, and have Incognito mode disabled.
Tapping brings an “Ask Gemini” window with a four color glow for a few seconds with the URL of your current page attached. Tap the ‘x’ to stop sharing the page. There are also shortcuts like:
- Summarize page: Tap to get key takeaways and insights that help you understand any topic.
- Create FAQ about this topic: Tap to get FAQs based on info from this page and similar sites.
Chrome 143 for iOS also adds biometric checkout support, adds new Chrome tips on the New Tab Page, and brings general stability improvements.
Chrome for iOS is a free download from the App Store.
