Claude AI iPhone App Gains Apple Health Integration in the US

Apple Health integration is rolling out in beta this week for Anthropic’s Claude AI chatbot, allowing the assistant to access iPhone users’ health and fitness data directly from the Health app.

Anthropic announced the new integration as part of a broader healthcare push.

In the US, Claude Pro and Max plan subscribers can choose to give Claude secure access to their lab results and health records. New HealthEx and Function connectors are available in beta today, while Apple Health and Android Health Connect integrations are rolling out in beta this week via the Claude iOS and Android apps.

The data shared includes movement, sleep, and activity patterns.

Once connected, Claude can summarize users’ medical history, explain test results in plain language, detect patterns across fitness and health metrics, and prepare questions for appointments. HealthEx and Function connectors are also available in beta.

The aim is to make patients’ conversations with doctors more productive, and to help users stay well-informed about their health.

Anthropic says the integrations are “private by design.” Users can select exactly what data they share, must explicitly opt in, and can revoke access at any time. The shared health data is not used to train models, says the company.
