iOS 27 Update Could Be Relatively Modest, Focusing on Bug Fixes, Performance, and Design Fine Tuning

Apple will preview its new iPhone software, iOS 27, at its 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Don’t look for any major new features or changes in the new software, claims Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman’s comments came in Sunday’s “Power On” newsletter. Gurman said that while iOS 27 will deliver additional Apple Intelligence improvements, the event will be “a fairly muted affair this year.” The new software’s top feature will likely be a “more personalized Siri with a chatbot interface,” as has been previously rumored. He says the updated software platforms will generally focus on performance improvements, bug fixes, and fine-tuning the design.

Gurman also noted that the first beta of iOS 26.4 will be seeded to developers during the week of February 23, and will include “some components” of the long-awaited improvements to ‌Siri‌.

Apple will likely announce the dates for WWDC 2026 sometime around the end of March and will likely take place the first part of June. During the event’s Keynote Address, Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 (insert name of California landmark here), watchOS 27, tvOS s7, and visionOS 27, for a fall release.
