iPhone Fold Crease Measurements Revealed as Apple Submits Production Line Orders

Apple has submitted production line orders for its upcoming foldable iPhone, indicating that the new device will hit shelves this year, claims Chinese leaker “Fixed Focus Digital” on a Weibo account.

Those comments come via the leaker’s Weibo account, where they say assembly lines recently received the orders from Apple, and those indicate the device’s crease measurements will measure in at 7.8-inch inner display.

The production line has indeed received orders for Apple’s foldable screen, confirming a release this year.

The price is conservative, the crease is kept below 0.15mm and the crease angle is less than 2.5 degrees, indicating good product performance.

The smaller number indicates the crease is shallower, making it less noticeable to the eye and to the touch. The crease angle is said to be under 2.5 degrees. A smaller angle indicates a smoother, flatter transition across the fold.

Since competing companies do not publish the crease measurements for their foldables, making it tough to compare the figures to other foldable devices on the market.

Apple’s foldable iPhone is rumored to feature a new type of display panel developed by Samsung that has been described as being “virtually crease free.”

Apple is widely expected to unveil the “iPhone Fold” sometime late next year or early 2027. The device is rumored to boast a 5.5-inch outer display, opening up in a book-style design that features a roughly 7.8-inch inner screen. The device has been described as “super thin,” and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has compared it to “two titanium iPhone Airs side by side.” The device is also believed to have Touch ID, two rear cameras, the A20 chip, and the “C2” modem. It is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and ‌iPhone 18‌ Pro Max sometime later this year.
