As first noted by MacRumors, Apple has released an update to the Apple Invites app.
Here’s what’s new:
Released in February 2025, the Apple Invites app is designed to help users create custom invitations to gather friends and family for any occasion.
The app can create invitations that can be sent out to anyone. The app offers options to choose a background image from the Photos app, select one of Apple’s built-in images, or select an emoji background, with customizable fonts. Information is automatically included from the Maps and Weather apps so that invitees have all of the data they need for an event, such as weather conditions and directions.
Invites offers Apple Intelligence-related features, including an option to use Image Playground to create original images using text-based descriptions. Writing Tools can also be employed to find the ideal phrasing for an invitation.
Invitees can RSVP invitations, and a built-in tracking feature allows the sender to track invitees that have responded. The app also allows creating a collaborative event soundtrack so everyone can contribute music, as well as a dedicated shared album that allows event attendees to contribute and see photos and videos.
Invites is an iCloud+ service, meaning it is available to iCloud+ subscribers. iCloud+ is priced starting at $0.99 per month. An iCloud+ subscription also provides additional iCloud storage over the free 5GB that comes with the free iCloud tier.
Apple Invites is available on the iPhone, and on the web at iCloud.com/invites. Guests can RSVP in the iPhone app, or on the web from any device.
