Apple Expands Apple Watch Hypertension Alerts and AirPods Hearing Aid Feature to Additional Countries

Apple on Tuesday confirmed that the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 Hearing Aids features ItalyRomania, and Czechia, while the Apple Watch Hypertension Alerts feature is now available in Israel.

After taking the hearing test with their AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 3 earbuds and iPhone running iOS 26, users will be able to view a summary of their test results, which is stored privately and securely in the Health app. Users can also share test results with their healthcare providers.

if hearing loss is detected, a personalized sound profile is created that allows the ‌AirPods Pro‌ 2 or AirPods Pro 3 to make dynamic sound adjustments to increase sound as needed.

Loud Sound Reduction also prevents hearing damage from loud ambient noise by cutting down on high-decibel sound when using Transparency and Adaptive modes.

Israeli users will be able to get an alert if the Apple Watch detects signs of chronic high blood pressure. The feature can alert users if signs of chronic high blood pressure — or hypertension — are detected. Hypertension is the leading modifiable risk factor for heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease, and impacts approximately 1.3 billion adults globally. It is frequently undiagnosed because it often has no symptoms, many people do not see a doctor regularly, and even during a clinical visit, it can be easily missed with a single measurement.

The Apple Watch hypertension detection feature uses the optical heart sensor to analyze blood vessel responses over 30-day periods, analyzing how a user’s blood vessels respond to the beats of the heart. The algorithm works passively in the background reviewing data over 30-day periods, and will notify users if it detects consistent signs of hypertension.

Hypertension alerts are available on the Apple Watch Series 9 and later and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later.
