Apple has reportedly closed the backdoor access to Siri AI that allowed macOS 27 Golden Gate testers avoid the waitlist Apple imposed on those users.
As we reported earlier this month, macOS 27 beta one users could activate Siri AI on their compatible Macs by copying and then pasting a single command into the Terminal app, avoiding the waitlist.
Unfortunately, several Reddit users that have installed the second developer beta of macOS 27, which was released on Monday, are reporting that the command does not work when they try it. even sadder, users that used the command to jump the line in the original macOS 27 beta are finding that they have been thrown back onto the waitlist after installing the update!
So, if you used the bypass trick in macOS 27 beta 1 and want to retain access to Siri AI, you may want to skip beta 2. Totally up to you.
Apple has not acknowledged the reported change, but one user theorizes that having access to Siri AI revoked in beta 2 is on a case-by-case basis, as some users report still having access to the feature.
