New Apple TV and HomePod Mini Are Close to Launch – Plus, Is a New Siri Remote Also on the Way?

New models of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are “nearly ready to go,” and a new Siri Remote may also be on the way, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

Gurman claims that while both devices have been ready “for months,” Apple is delaying their launches until the more personalized version of Siri is available. Gurman’s comments came in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter.

“I am told the hardware for the next Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini has been done for months and that both devices are already in active use among employees at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California,” wrote Gurman.

The revamped, more personalized version of Siri is expected to finally be ready alongside the release of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, all of which will be unveiled one week from now, during the Monday, June 8 WWDC 2026 keynote.

The new operating systems will likely launch to the public in September, following a summer of testing by developers and public beta testers, meaning we can likely expect to see the release of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models sometime around then or soon after..

The current Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini lineup are both growing a bit long in the tooth, as the most recent Apple TV 4K debuted in October 2022, and the HomePod mini hasn’t seen a new model since its October 2020 debut.

Gurman says not to get your hopes up for any other big features other than personalized Siri for both devices, as the new models updates will likely only include a newer processor that will offer Apple Intelligence support and personalized Siri.

The current Apple TV 4K is powered by the same A15 Bionic chip that powered the iPhone 13 lineup, while the HomePod mini uses the S5 chip also used to power the Apple Watch Series 5.

Gurman said the new Apple TV will share a similar design to today’s model. Other internal improvements for the revamped Apple TV could include Apple’s N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.

The updated HomePod mini is expected to use an Apple Watch S9 chip or newer, but it may use an improved version of that chip that would offer full support for the new Apple Intelligence-powered Siri. Other features have been rumored for the new smart speaker, including the N1 chip, improved sound quality, a newer Ultra Wideband chip, and a new red color option.

Gurman was also told that Apple TV’s Siri Remote may be “refreshed in some form,” but he did not offer any specific details about the internals or the appearance of the rumored accessory.
