Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup has entered mass production and Foxconn is now in a production ramp-up phase, according to China Securities News (via MyDrivers).
According to the publication’s industry chain sources, Apple’s main assembly partner Foxconn has entered its peak recruitment period to prepare for large-scale production and stocking of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, ahead of the fall launch. The company is offering higher hourly wages, base pay, and rehire bonuses to attract workers during the ramp-up.
In July, the iPhone 18 series entered mass production and is currently ramping up production capacity. With the accelerated production of the new phones, Foxconn, Apple’s main assembly manufacturer, is experiencing a hiring boom to prepare for large-scale production and inventory buildup. Apple will adjust the release schedule of the iPhone 18 series, adopting a phased launch strategy.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be released first in September, followed by the standard iPhone 18 in the spring. The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to feature a smaller screen-to-body ratio, with the punch-hole camera to be reduced from 20.76mm to 13.49mm, resulting in an overall screen size reduction of around 35%. The screen-to-body ratio is expected to increase to 94.7%, and it will be powered by the A20 Pro flagship chip. The devices’ main camera is expected to boast variable aperture technology.
Apple is expected to adjust its release timeline this product cycle, with a staggered rollout, as opposed to unveiling the full lineup at once. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be available first, rolling out in September, possibly alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 lineup will debut in spring of 2027, likely alongside the iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2.
