Apple is panning to send out invitations for its annual iPhone event sometime this week, says Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. The event will likely take place on Wednesday, September 9, he said.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max lineups, alongside a foldable iPhone that will reportedly be named the iPhone Ultra. The Apple Watch Series 12, which will include the return of a ceramic case option, will also debut, as well as two new AirPods 5 models, and the possibility of more.
The foldable iPhone Ultra is expected to use Touch ID integrated into the side button instead of in-display Face ID. The iPhone Ultra is said have a 5.5-inch outer display and a roughly 7.8-inch inner display when opened, making for a wide book-style design.
The Ultra is scheduled to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at a launch event in early September. The device is rumored to start at $2,000 and climb past $2,500 for higher storage tiers.
