Apple is getting prepared for its big September iPhone shindig, where it is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and an all-new foldable iPhone. As part of the preparations, Apple is holding an Event Support Experience Program lottery for US retail employees who want to help staff the in-person unveiling. Bloomberg reports the lucky employees will organize lines, check in guests, offer directions, greet attendees, and support security teams.
While Apple has only told interested employees that the event will take place during the first half on September, it’s likely Apple will hold the big event on Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9. Since September 7 is Labor Day and Apple traditionally likes to give members of the media a day to travel, September 9 makes sense as the target date this year.
Retail employees have acted in support roles at major Apple Events for years,
Apple presumably pays for travel and lodging for employees who are invited to Apple Park to work the media event. Applications close August 8, and Apple will notify selected employees by August 17. Workers who participated in WWDC 2026 or the 2025 iPhone launch aren’t eligible.
