Apple is preparing to relase new iMac models powered by and upgraded M6 chip and with multiple new coor options, says Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman’s comments came in his latest Power On newsletter. He says the new version is likely to be an updated 24-inch model with an M6 chip, to replace the current M4 model that arrived in October 2024.
While Gurman says new colors are also coming for the iMac, he does not say what they are. The current iMac lineup is available in seven colors, including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver.
Gurman says that other than new colors, no major design changes are expected. While Apple is rumored to be working on a 24-inch iMac with an OLED display, but that model won’t arrive for several years.
“All signs point to the M6 models being close to launch,” says Gurman. He expects the new models to arrive before the end of this year.
