Apple’s AirTag-Sized AI Pin Put on Hold

Apple has put its plans on hold for a camera-equipped AI wearable, reports Bloomberg. As we previously reported, the device was described as an thin, circular AirTag-sized AI-powered pin or pendant pin was said to be rquipped with two built-in cameras, microphones, and a speaker.

A camera would relay information about the wearer’s surroundings to Siri. The AI pin would offer Visual Intelligence features, and ‌Siri‌ AI would be able to answer questions about the wearer’s location or what the wearer is looking at. The device is reportedly made from aluminum and glass and would sport a physical control button on the side.

While observers expected Apple to unveil the AI wearable as soon as 2027, that seems unlikely, now that development has been put on hold. In addition to the smart pin, Apple is reportedlt working on several other wearables, including AirPods with cameras, a screen-free fitness band, AI smartglasses.
