HomePod Software 27 has already been released, and Siri AI hasn’t made an appearance on existing HomePod and HomePod mini speakers, indicating the new features will only be support on as yet released new HomePod models.
We’ve seen and reported on several rumors about an updated HomePod mini, which is expected to boast an upgraded processor, likely an S9 chip or later, perhaps even the latest S11 chip used in the Apple Watch Series 12.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and newer offer support for Siri AI, although that comes only with a connected iPhone that is compatible with Apple Intelligence to gain the Siri functionality. The next HomePod mini models are rumored to work similarly, providing some Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features when used with a compatible iPhone.
While the HomePod mini isn’t expected to get a external redesign, in addition to an updated processor, other rumored features include the N1 chip, improved sound quality, a newer Ultra Wideband chip, and a new red color option.
