Apple Officially Unveils Apple Music’s New Look

Apple today officially unveiled Apple Music’s new brand identity. The unveiling came in a post on X and a YouTube video shared today, Apple says the new Apple Music visuals were “made by sound.” Apple partnered with British record producer Fred Again and NEST Acoustics on this project.

The unveiling comes on the heels of a new Apple Music logo and a new app icon, both unveiled earlier this month.

In the video, Apple said:

For the rebrand of Apple Music, we wanted sound to create the visuals. How do we take this idea of music and distill it into something visually beautiful?

Essentially, the idea was to create the perfect sound wave. We take a frequency and we play it through a rig. This rig then moves a large amount of liquid at the frequency of the notes.

We partnered with one of the world’s best music artists to create the notes for the final mnemonic.

And then we used that sound to create the visuals.

Apple Music visuals will now have a black-and-white color scheme instead of the previous red. Apple’s next software releases, currently in beta, will fully roll out the changes. iOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, and other OS betas all use the updated icon. The updates are expected to be released later this month.
