Apple Stores Receive Boxes Marked ‘Do Not Open Until October 8’

Apple Stores around the globe are preparing to install new product presentations starting on Thursday, October 8. Apple retail stores received confidential boxes earlier this week featuring “Do Not Open Until October 8” stickers on them, reports MacRumors.

The boxes are believed to contain labels, graphics, and product layouts for store virtual merchandisers to use to set up new displays ahead of the expected release of new Apple products. The publication says it received a tip-off about the boxes and that the tip has been independently confirmed.

Yesterday, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple plans to introduce these three long-awaited new devices on Tuesday, October 13. This makes it likely that the promotional materials will be related to the expected new smart home hub, new Apple TV 4K set-top box, and new HomePod mini smart speakers. However, they could also be related to the upcoming iPhone Duo.

Apple is expected to announce the new products sometime during the week of October 5, meaning Apple Stores will need to update their displays for the October 13 launch.
