Is your Apple Watch showing the wrong time after we “fell back” early Sunday morning when the usual daylight savings time change took place in the United States? Clocks were turned back by one hour across most of the U.S. in the wee hours of Sunday, November 1.
Apple has shared a support document describing what to do if your Apple Watch is one hour off after the change.
“This incorrect time appears only on the Always On display when your wrist is down,” says Apple. “When you activate the display by tapping it or raising your wrist, the time changes to the correct hour.”
What your watch might show
After daylight savings time changes in your area, your Apple Watch might continue to show time that’s off by one hour.
This incorrect time appears only on the Always On display when your wrist is down; when you activate the display by tapping it or raising your wrist, the time changes to the correct hour.
Apple Watch features like alarms are not affected by this issue.
Here’s how to fix it:
How to get the correct time
If your Apple Watch is showing incorrect time on its Always On display after daylight saving time changes, try either of these things:
Switch to any other watch face, then switch back to your preferred watch face.
If you do nothing, the issue will resolve itself at midnight following the time change.
Apple says to make sure to keep your Apple Watch updated to get the latest bug fixes and security updates.
MacRumors reports Apple Watch users similarly affected in Europe when clocks went back there last week.
