Image Allegedly Shows ‘iPhone SE 2’ Screen Protector With iPhone X-Style Notch

A Twitter photo posted by parts leaker Sonny Dickson allegedly shows a screen protector that is designed to fit the as yet unannounced iPhone SE 2. Rumors have indicated the notch cutout will be needed due to the new device’s inclusion of Apple’s TrueDepth camera array.

The Twitter post shows two screen protectors, side-by-side, with this tweet accompanying it:

iPhone SE 2 (left) iPhone X (right) screen protectors. SE appears to share the design, however smaller notch.

There are notable difference between the two screen protectors in the photo, besides its size, is that the protector on the left, allegedly destined for the new iPhone SE 2, shows a shallower notch at the top to possibly accommodate the TrueDepth camera that might be included in the new device.

The screen protector also lacks a hole for the Home Button that is included on every iPhone model excepting the iPhone X, further indicating the new iPhone would include Face ID technology in place of Touch ID, which is used to unlock the device and confirm purchases using Apple Pay.

As is usual in reports like this, this is all conjecture and shadows until the big WWDC 18 shindig on Monday. Come back here on Monday, and we’ll let you know how it all turned out.
