New iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro to Have Update Waiting Right Out of the Box

Buyers of the new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro models that were unveiled earlier this week will find day-one software update waiting when they take them out of the box.

iPadOS 26.0.1 (23A8464), macOS 26.0.1 (25A8364), and visionOS 26.0.1 (23M8340) should be available upon the launch of the new ‌iPad Pro‌, ‌MacBook Pro‌, and Vision Pro, all of which are powered by Apple’s new M5 chip.

While all three device will have current versions of their operating systems already installed, the updates will be waiting for installation when they are first powered up. While Apple hasn’t announced what the new updates include, day-one updates usually include essential bug and security fixes.

All of the new devices are now available to pre-order, and will begin arriving on customers’ doorsteps and in stores on Wednesday, October 22.
