TikTok has announced that it will now allow users to limit (not cut off completely) the amount of AI-generated content that they see in their feeds.
The company will add a new AI content control toggle in the Manage Topics section of TikTok, which includes a slider for adjusting the AI content in a user’s “For You” feed.
TikTok’s Manage Topics section – which allows users to adjust the content that they see across several categories, including Dance, Sports, Current Affairs, Fashion, and more – Will see AI added as a new option “in the coming weeks.”
If you like AI content you can increase the amount you’ll see, while the less insane among us can “dial things down,” says TikTok. Unfortunately, there won’t be a toggle to turn AI-generated content off completely.
The customer content focused streamer is also testing an AI-generated content labeling system it calls invisible watermarking, which is designed to prevent labels denoting content as AI-generated from being removed when the content is re-uploaded or shared on another platform. TikTok says the invisible watermark will be harder to remove from the video’s metadata.
