Southwest Airlines Joins Two Other Airlines in Offering Support for Apple Wallet iOS 26 Boarding Passes

Southwest Airlines Joins Two Other Airlines in Offering Support for Apple Wallet iOS 26 Boarding Passes

With the release of iOS 26, Apple’s built-in Wallet app offers boarding passes that support Live Activities. Boarding passes in your Wallet will allow you to keep track of a flight at a glance on your iPhone’s lock screen and in the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and newer handsets.

Now a third major airline has added support for the new feature, bringing the number of major airlines providing support for the feature to three.

9to5Mac reports Southwest Airlines has joined United and Delta in offering support for the iOS 26 Apple Wallet boarding pass feature. The move comes just in time for the busy holiday travel season.

9to5Mac’s Ryan Christoffel reports that while Southwest Airlines has yet to officially announce boarding pass support, he traveled on Southwest last week, and discovered that the airline now supports iOS 26 boarding passes.

This means the new feature should make life easier for Southwest, United, and Delta passengers as they attempt to navigate their travels.

If you’ve recently traveled on Southwest Airlines and didn’t find the feature to be available, it could be that Southwest is rolling out support and it just hasn’t reached your area yet.

The Wallet app also displays relevant information, including boarding information like gates and departure times, as well as Maps to navigate airports, Find My to track important items, report missing bags, and more. Plus, new shortcuts are now available below the passes providing one-tap access to open Apple Maps for airport directions, and to open the Find My app for baggage tracking. The Wallet app also automatically updates the flight details, including the flight’s gate and departure time.

You can share these Live Activities via Messages with the tap of a button. Recipients with a supported iPhone will receive their own Live Activity to allow them to track your flight.

While no other airlines have announced adding iOS 26 boarding pass support, the following airlines are expected to add support for the feature in the near future:

  • Air Canada
  • American Airlines
  • JetBlue
  • Jetstar
  • Lufthansa
  • Qantas
  • Virgin Australia.
