Apple Sports App Hits the Links – Adds PGA and LPGA Coverage

Apple today announced that it was adding golf coverage to its Apple Sports app for the iPhone. The app will now provide coverage of both the PGA and LPGA, so fans of both men’s and ladies’ golf should appreciate the addition.

Golf fans can follow along as each tournament unfolds with access to live scores for all official PGA Tour and LPGA Tour events, including the majors, starting this weekend with the PGA’s WM Phoenix Open.

Fans can track their favorite players through each event with hole-by-hole results and individual scorecards alongside live leaderboards, plus scores from every round during each tournament throughout the year.

The update also brings the addition of some of Europe’s most popular soccer federation cups: DFB-Pokal, Coupe de France, Coppa Italia, and Copa del Rey.

In addition to the announced additions, backend code shared by MacRumors reveals Apple is planning to add support for six South American soccer leagues, including Brazil Serie A, Argentina Primera A, Colombia Primera Liga, Ecuador Serie A, Peru Primera Division, and Chile Primera Division in version 3.8 of the app.

Apple Sports offers the Live Activities feature, delivering real-time updates directly to a user’s iPhone Lock Screen and Apple Watch. This means you can keep track of the links action at a glance on an iPhone’s Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and newer, and Apple Watch. Game Card Sharing lets fans share their excitement for any tournament or match across all supported leagues and competitions.

The Apple Sports app, which launched in February 2024, is a free app for the iPhone that provides access to real-time scores, stats, and more. The app offers a personalized experience that allows users to put their favorite leagues and teams front and center.
