Apple Debuts Its New iPhone 17e – Double the Storage for the Same Starting Price

Apple today unveiled the new iPhone 17e, the most affordable member of the iPhone 17 family of handsets. The new handset is powered by the same powerful A19 chip as the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup.

The iPhone 17e also features improved connectivity, using the C1X, the latest-generation cellular modem designed by Apple, which is up to 2x faster than C1 in iPhone 16e. The device’s 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display features Ceramic Shield 2, providing 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation and reduced glare.

The iPhone 17e’s 48MP Fusion camera boasts an optical-quality 2x Telephoto. The device’s MagSafe feature allows users to enjoy fast wireless charging and provides access to an ecosystem of accessories like chargers, stands, and cases. When iPhone 17e users find themselves outside of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage, Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite help them stay connected when it’s most needed.

The iPhone 17e will be available for pre-order beginning Wednesday, March 4, with availability starting Wednesday, March 11. It will be available in three color options: black, white, and soft pink. The base model iPhone 17e offers 256GB of storage for $599, providing two times the storage of the iPhone 16e at the same starting price.

iPhone 17e customers can get up to $400 (U.S.) in credit when they trade in iPhone 11, or up to $599 (U.S.) in credit when they trade in iPhone 13 to put toward an iPhone 17e. With Apple Trade In, customers can get up to $100 (U.S.) in credit when they trade in iPhone 11, or up to $195 (U.S.) in credit when they trade in iPhone 13. Offers are also available for customers without a trade in.
