Apple’s Foldable iPhone to be ‘Most Significant Overhaul in the iPhone’s History’

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman is expecting great things from Apple’s first foldable iPhone. His comments came in his Power On newsletter on Sunday, He said the foldable iPhone will be “the most significant overhaul in the iPhone’s history.”

“iPhone 4, iPhone 6 and iPhone X were clearly a big deal, but this is a whole new design,” he said.

The foldable iPhone is expected to open up like a book, providing a wider screen when open. iOS 27 is expected to allow side-by-side apps on the new foldable. Recently, it was reported that the “iPhone Fold” would boast an 5.3-in outer display and a 7.7-in inner display. Apple is said to have developed technology that reduces the inner display’s crease “without eliminating it entirely.”

Meanwhile, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the foldable device to boast two rear cameras, a single front camera, and Touch ID built-into the power button.

Apple is expected to unveil the foldable iPhone in September this year, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, some analysts believe the foldable iPhone might ship later than the Pro models.

The foldable iPhone is expected to start at $1,999 or above.
