New images have hit the internet of an alleged iPhone 18 Pro prototype and screen protectors from multiple sources, giving more credence to earlier rumors that Apple plans to significantly shrink the Dynamic Island later this year.
An X user called @earlyappleleaks recently shared an image that is said to show a prototype iPhone 18 Pro sporting a noticeably smaller Dynamic Island. In the image, the flashlight of another iPhone is held over the corner of the display, uncovering a small punch-hole cutout under the display, which is allegedly a repositioned Face ID sensor.
Able to share this now.

It should be noted that “Early Apple” is a relatively new account on the scene that has no established track record, so take it with the proverbial grain of salt substitute.
In a separate post, the leaker known as “Ice Universe” posted an image that allegedly shows an iPhone 18 Pro screen protector showing dramatically smaller cutouts compared to the current design. The protector images appear to corroborate the alleged prototype photo seen above.

For those of you not familiar with the Dynamic Island, it is a pill-shaped interactive area that debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The area expands and contracts as needed, displaying live activities, while also hiding the front camera and Face ID sensor cutouts.
