macOS Tahoe 26.5 Now Available to the Public

Apple today released macOS Tahoe 26.5 to the public, marking the release of the fifth major update to the macOS Tahoe operating system, which was released in September. macOS Tahoe‌ 26.5 comes nearly two months after the release of macOS Tahoe 26.4.

Mac users can download the macOS Tahoe update by using the Software Update section of the System Settings app.

‌macOS Tahoe‌ 26.5 brings a “Suggested Places” section to the search interface in the Apple Maps app. The update also lays the groundwork for ads in the Maps app, which will begin running this summer.

The App Store also ads a monthly subscription option that will allow users to pay a lower price on a monthly basis when agreeing to a subscription for a 12-month period.

The update also likely includes several bug fixes and other under-the-hood performance updates.

This update may be the last with any new features, as Apple has shifted its focus to macOS 27, which will be previewed at WWDC next month.
