Apple Orders 10 Million iPhone 5s Ahead Of September Launch

According to DigiTimes, Apple ordered 10 million units of their 5th generation iPhone device in anticipation of a September release. The very short report claims..

Pegatron Technology has landed orders for 10 million units of iPhone 5 to become the second ODM of the smartphone. Shipments will start in September, according to industry sources.

As iPhone gross margins are relatively small, Pegatron aims to compete for orders for iPad, MacBook Air and other Apple products and has increased production equipment and employment, the sources said.

For 2012, Pegatron expects to obtain ODM orders for 8-10 million notebooks form Acer, the sources noted.

It’s also been rumored that Apple is currently field-testing iPhone 5s with multiple carriers while they test and iron out any lingering tech issues.

It was previously rumored that the iPhone 5 may arrive in October, however a September release looks a lot more likely. Although, I wouldn’t rule out a US release in September and an international one in October.

Time to count those pennies and cents…

    Come to think of it… There is no way this is going to be released prior to iCloud – this will be ( I predict) the main thrust of Apples next shin-dig… then I can just hear now SJ’s saying…. 
    “Oh… there is one more thing”!! – then show the new iPhone…. a case of chicken and egg… Thats my prediction…. opening a betting book as I write this… who’s going to take a few bets ehh?

    Nope, from the spy shots I’ve seen it doesn’t look that different to the 4, and by all accounts there won’t be any major improvements…gonna wait for the 6.
