Apple Rolling Out New Category Pages For The App Store

Apple Rolling Out New Category Pages For The App Store

It seems as though Apple is revamping category pages within the App Store, causing them to appear much more like the home page. The new look has already surfaced in the Education and Games category, and is being rolled out across the board.

The new pages feature a large horizontal banner display that shows a few select apps in premium position. The banner can scroll through the suggestions, just like on the home page.

The updated design also brings these category pages up to speed with the rest of the iTunes stores to give the entire iTunes Store experience a more streamlined and unified look, although it does somewhat limit the ability to easily view all new apps in a category at a glance.

Besides the App Store within iTunes for Mac, the new design is also appearing iPhone and iPad versions of the App Store, but once again, it so far is only appearing in the Education and Games categories at this point.
