Bored Of The Normal iPad 2? Get One In Gold!

One thing the iPad 2 arguably lacks is the ability to customize the exterior, and if you’re one of those people who’s completely obsessed with design, this can be frustrating. Fear not though – Stuart Hughes, famed for giving Apple products golden makeovers, has struck again, this time with the iPad 2.

This iPad features a solid gold back, not to mention an Apple logo and home button made entirely from 65 pure flawless diamonds. This modified iPad, officially called the “iPad 2 Gold History Edition,” perhaps more strangely features a bezel carved from Ammolite rock and Tyrannosaurus Rex thigh bone. Yes, you read that right, you can have some dinosaur built right into your iPad.

How much is this, you ask? The answer isn’t at all pretty. $8,000,000 dollars (£5,000,000). Yup, no joke, I did not write it wrong – that’s eight with six zeros behind it. In short, you have to be a multi-millionaire to afford it, and anyway, why would you want one? At that price, you’d be better off buying 16,000 normal iPads. Way more fun.
