There’s do doubt that Apple has done fairly well this year, raking in the cash hand-over-fist, especially in the App Store. According to Distimo’s year-end wrap-up (via Electronista), Apple’s App Store now generates over four times the revenue as the Android Marketplace!

The report also notes China as a major user of the App Store, with 30 percent of overall downloads (up from 18%), mostly due to Apple’s acceptance of the Chinese Yuan as a payment method, which almost doubled downloads in the Chinese market.

Also worth noting: China now makes up 16% of Apple’s overall revenue. China has definitely blossomed as a market for Apple, and that trend is likely to continue for some time.

So, Apple is ending this year with a bang, both in the App Store (which is still miles ahead of the Android Market) and with continually high Mac and iOS device sales. What will 2012 bring? Likely more of the same. But of course, only time will tell.
