Apple Considering HzO Technology to Waterproof Future iOS Devices?

Following our discussion of waterproofing technologies demonstrated at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, Pocket-Lint reports that both Apple and Samsung are considering using the technology to waterproof future devices.

We showed the Samsung Chairman the technology with a Samsung Galaxy S that we had coated with HZO and he couldn’t believe his eyes,” a representative of the company told us. “Samsung is really excited by the tech.” The company has told us that they are also talking to Apple as well, hoping to be able to let Apple make the iPhone 5 waterproof. “We expect HZO to be in next season’s phones,” HZO told Pocket-lint rather confidently.

As mentioned in our previous report, HzO is a unique protective lacquer designed to waterproof electronic devices on the molecular level using some pretty cool nanotechnology.

The technology is developed and owned by ZAGG, creators of the Invisible Shield, and can be applied by device manufactures as part of the production process, resulting in a gadget that can withstand showers, toilets, puddles, or any other wet environment that would ordinarily kill your device.
