How to Get Back the ‘Save As…’ Command in OS X Mountain Lion

One of the few things that frustrated me with OS X 10.7 Lion was been the removal of the “Save As…” command. We have previously noted a couple of different ways to being back the command (including natively in Mountain Lion), but it seems worthwhile to combine them both in one place as well.

Here’s two ways to get back this useful command in Mountain Lion:

  • Using the Command-Shift-Option-S keyboard shortcut immediately bring up the Save As command in all of Apple’s native Mountain Lion apps.
  • Save As can also be accessed by holding down Option while clicking the File menu. This will make the command appear as a menu item.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s very pleased to see this useful feature make a return!

Update: TUAW also has an excellent guide on how to re-map the Save As command to a simpler and easier to remember shortcut.
