How to Check If Your Apple Device UDID Was Compromised by AntiSec Leak

Earlier today, we reported that a large number of iOS device UDIDs were leaked by AntiSec from an FBI laptop. While the FBI has since denied that they are involved, the concern remains real.

If you’re concerned that your device might be one of those affected by the leak, TheNextWeb has put together a tool to help put your mind at ease. Just head on over to their post, enter your UDID (or part of your UDID – 50% or so should be enough) to determine if your device ID was leaked.

To locate your UDID, you can use this free App Store app, or check by opening iTunes, docking your device, selecting it in the left-hand column, and clicking once on your serial number. This will display your UDID.

While a UDID alone is unlikely to post a threat to your information or device security, it may still be worth checking the list just to make sure you’re in the clear!
