It’s Official: Apple Confirms iPhone-Related Media Event on September 10

Following reports from numerous media sources on August 12 alleging that Apple was planning an iPhone-related media event for September 10th, Apple has just stepped in to make the date official. Jim Dalrymple of The Loop reports that Apple has officially sent out invitations confirming the event, which will take place at 10 AM at Apple’s Cupertino corporate headquarters.

The Loop:

Apple on Tuesday sent out invites for a special event to be held on September 10, 2013 at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters. According to the invitation I received today, the event will start at 10:00 am PT.

It is widely expected that Apple will introduce a new iPhone at event.

Apple is widely expected to announce their new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at the event, and much speculation has already been offered to the iAltar regarding what to expect.

The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have been all-but confirmed. In the case of the iPhone 5S, it’s a pretty safe bet (collaborated by well-sourced analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, iMore editor in chief Rene Ritchie, 9to5Mac reporter Mark Gurman, and MG Seigler of TechCrunch, and more) that we’ll also see a champagne or gold color option, up to 128GB of storage,  significant under-the-hood upgrades (including a new custom Apple A7 chip with 64-bit processing), dual-LED Flash, a larger battery, a vastly improved camera, and more.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5C is expected to sell for no more than $500 outside of a carrier contract, will come in multiple colors, and will essentially be an iPhone 5 in new, more colorful skin. September 10th is nearly here! Are you ready?!
