Review: Tittat – The iOS App That Knows What Others Think of You

Did you ever wonder what your friends, family and acquaintances really thought about you? Or, did you ever wonder what that new guy or gal in your life was really like? Enter Tittat – The app that allows you to see what others think of you and others, and even allows you to anonymously enter comments about those you’ve encountered.

Overview

Tittat is designed to allow users to post anonymous reports about what people are really like after they’ve gotten past the “charm and disarm” stage of their relationships. We’ve all encountered the “Sweet as honey” guy or gal who eventually began to show their true, vinegar personality when they begin to think you’re comfortable with them.

Tittat is a fairly new app, and as such, there may not be a lot of “reviews” of the folks in your life as of yet. Eventually, the designers of the app hope that reviews and comments about folks will begin to snowball, and fill out the profiles. The app connects to your Facebook app, so the outlook is good for this app to eventually become a decent resource to find out what folks you encounter both online and in real life, are really like.

One note: The developers of Tittat do take time to remind you that when you talk smack about someone, despite being anonymous, you are still responsible for your own words. So, watch it with the slander, hate speech, and threats! Good advice no matter what social app you’re using.

Features of Tittat include:

  • Alerts, notifications and private messages
  • Global feed: see who is being talked about worldwide
  • Location services, so you can see who is near and being talked about on Tittat
  • Top users, favorites and friends lists
  • Connect directly to your Facebook profile
  • Invite friends and add them to your friends list

When I tried out Tittat, I found that many of the “reviews” of other users that I browsed were in another language. However, as I scrolled through the users, I did find numerous english language reviews.

Many of the comments left about other users seemed to be of the “Hey girl!” or the “Damn! Put your clothes on woman!” format. This could be simply from users who haven’t really grasped what the app is all about, so time will tell if the comments continue in this vein.

The apps connects directly to your Facebook profile, as as such gives you access to any comments made about you or your Facebook friends. You can also invite your Facebook friends to download the app and see what others are saying about them.

Using location services, Tittat also allows you to see reviews for those who are in your general area. That could come in handy when you meet someone in a social situation, it might give you the chance to check out the cutie you just met and see if he or she is really “all that.”

The app also allows you to receive alerts, notifications, and private messages, so it allows you to keep up with the latest dope on both yourself and others.

Verdict

Tittat has a lot of potential. The app is in its early days, and still has a long way to go before it becomes as usable as its developers are hoping it will be. I see Tittat becoming a great tool to casually check out those you encounter. That is, if the users get the hang of how they’re supposed to use it. The developers may want to look at some way to prod users into the intended method of using the app.

Tittat is free, so the only risk in downloading the app is finding out what other’s really think of you, or finding out your new Princess is just a Drama Queen.

Pros:

  • Find out what others are really like when they’re not putting on a show for you.
  • If you can handle it, find out what others think of you.
  • Good interface, easy to navigate.

Cons:

  • Currently has a small user base. This should improve in time.
  • Users don’t seem to be sure exactly what they should be doing. Again, this should improve in time.
