Apple Watch Makes the Cover of March Issue of Self Magazine

The Apple Watch is making its U.S. magazine cover debut this week, via the March issue of Self magazine. The wearable device made its first ever magazine cover debut back in October, when it appeared on the front of Vogue China on the wrist of Chinese model Liu Wen.

AppleInsider:

Supermodel Candice Swanepoel, best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, will be the first woman to don the upcoming Apple Watch in a U.S. magazine cover shoot with the March issue of women’s lifestyle magazine SELF…

Inside the magazine is more in-depth coverage of the watch, covering its accelerometer, heart rate sensor, and more.

The article in Self targets fitness enthusiasts who may be looking at the Apple Watch for its health-related functions of step tracking, movement reminders, and heart rate monitoring.

We can likely expect to see many more publications highlight the Apple Watch as the device’s launch date grows near. So far Apple’s wearable has made an appearance at Parisian fashion boutique Colette in September, the Vogue China cover in October, and now the Self magazine piece.

Apple is currently working with developers to put the finishing touches on apps for the new wearable device, reportedly inviting a select number of developers to Cupertino to work with Apple.

Apple CEO Tim Cook remarked last month that the Apple Watch will go on sale in April, however no specific release date has been announced.
