Apple Pay Users Experiencing Issues Adding Visa Credit and Debit Cards (UPDATE: It’s Fixed)

UPDATE: Apple says the issue has been resolved, and users can once again add new Visa debit and credit cards to Apple Pay.

Apple Pay users are currently reporting an hours-long issue with adding Visa credit and debit cards to their devices. Users should still be able to use previously attached cards.

9to5Mac:

The issue only appears to be affecting Visa cards, not American Express, MasterCard, or Discover cards. Making payments with Apple Pay and Visa cards also appears unaffected as the issue is only with adding new cards to Apple Pay.

As shown in the screenshot above, the issue is ongoing, and has affected users for a number of hours this morning, going back to at least 3:15AM CST, when Apple acknowledges, the issue began affecting “some users.”

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for updates to the issue, and let you know when you can try adding your new Visa card to Apple Pay. Until then, use a previously added card to make purchases, or use, ::GASP!:: cash to buy your items.
