Apple Releases Security Update 2016-001 for OS X El Capitan

Apple on Thursday released Update 2016-001 for Macs running OS X El Capitan. The update includes important security fixes to the operating system. The update is available for all OS X El Capitan users, and is available in the Mac App Store, via the “Update” tab.

Apple recommends all OS X El Capitan users install the update, due to the improved security the update offers.
