Now that Apple’s HomePod is shipping, Apple has shared an informative¬†official HomePod User Guide, which offers an overview of the HomePod for new owners.

Apple Publishes Official HomePod User Guide

The guide walks new users through getting the smart speaker ready to use after its un-boxing. The guide contains information on the device’s controls, settings, and more.

Sections of the guide include:

  • Welcome
  • Get Started
  • Apple Music
  • Apple Podcasts
  • News
  • Control Your Home
  • Assistant
  • Support and Safety

Users can issue Siri commands to the HomePod, including many commands that should be familiar to iOS and macOS users, such as “Hey Siri, add this song to my library,” Hey Siri, How’s the traffic to [Insert name of city here],” and “Hey Siri, set a timer for 20 minutes.”

The “Control Your Home” section of the guide walks users through using the speaker as a hub to control HomeKit smart home devices.
