2 Million Apple TVs Sold

The second generation Apple TV went on sale on the 1st of September 2010 and has already hit the 2 million milestone.

Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed (via Apple Insider) that more than 2 million units have shipped since its launch late last year. Apple TV is priced at a very reasonable $99 and 250,000 units were sold in the first six weeks of its launch with the 1 million mark hit just before Christmas ’10.

Rumors are abound that Apple will open up its AirPlay feature to third parties. This will allow you to stream music / movies directly from your iPhone / iPad to your TV without the need for an Apple TV.
