Armed robber shot dead at San Diego area Apple Store

Shocking news out of San Diego, California area today. The Otay Ranch Apple Store in Chula Vista was robbed this morning just before 7 am in a “smash and grab” attempt gone awry. Two of the three suspects are in custody and the other is dead. A security guard witnessed two men and a woman from his car outside the store smashing the window while the store manager was inside. He confronted the group and at least one of them drew a weapon, starting an exchange of fire between them. They sped away in a car and and according Sign on San Diego the guard shot and killed the driver in the head just before the car crashed into a utility pole. The other two suspects fled and were later arrested. There are some reports stating about 40 shots were fired but fortunately, it seems no one else, including the store manager, was injured.

It shocking what some will do to guard the latest Apple gadgets.

James first bit into Apple when his mom and dad bought an Apple IIe in 1986. He switched to Wintel in the mid 90s when Apple was in a tailspin and back again to an iBook in 2005 when things were looking brighter. Hopefully there is no turning back to the dark side now.
