OS X Lion Makes Early Appearance At Amazon.de

We have a fresh Lion sighting for you! While Lions usually hang out in jungles, this Lion was spotted in the Amazon. The German Amazon store to be exact.

OS X Lion has made an early appearance at Amazon.de. However, you can’t purchase it, nor is there a price listed. You can only sign-up to receive a notification of when this item will become available.

There is no release date listed for the item other than 2011. It is largely expected that Apple will launch OS X Lion at June’s WWDC event.

The only other thing of note from Amazon’s early listing of OS X is that it will only be available by way of DVD. It was rumored that Apple may ditch DVDs altogether and instead opt for a USB option. This was the approach taken with sales of the Macbook Airs but it would seem this was a once off due to the disk-less nature of the Airs.

It would seem that normal distribution methods will resume for the general release of OS X Lion.
