Opera Mini Updated To 6.0, Now Works With iPad!

Looking for a new browser option on your iPad? For those of you that aren’t completely satisfied with Mobile Safari, Opera has now made their Opera Mini browser a universal app, bringing some interesting new features to your iPad’s web browsing.

Opera Software released a major 6.0 update to their Opera Mini web browser on Tuesday with a redesigned, universal app that finally brings some love to the bigger screen of the iPad as well as Retina Display support for the iPhone 4.

The release notes pump the “fresh new look” of Opera Mini 6, while also suggesting that speed benefits and data savings are an advantage to using the newly updated mobile browser. The updated design looks great, and adds ultra-smooth pinch-to-zoom and panning support. It also introduces direct, built-in Facebook and Twitter sharing.

International font support is also now greatly improved for Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese and other non-Latin languages (Opera supports a laundry list of languages from all over the world). Finally, users have the ability to open a new page in a background tab as well.

Opera Mini 6.0 is available now from the App Store; the free app is a 3.4MB download compatible with all iOS devices running iOS 3.0 or later.
