Pornhub is the most popular adult website in the world–receiving 3.84 billion visits in June 2026 alone–but apparently Apple fans still have their priorities when it comes to things being unveiled.
Mashable reports that Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” caused PornHub fans using Apple devices to close their browser tabs that were open to the adult site in record numbers. The reason? Apple’s first foldable iPhone ever, the new iPhone Duo. Although Pornhub typically sees its traffic slip during Apple’s annual September iPhone launch event, this year Apple users defected in record numbers, the most ever during an Apple Event in the past five years.
On September 9, 2026, two minutes before the event’s 1 p.m. Eastern start time. Pornhub pageviews on Apple devices had fallen 19.1%, when compared to an average day. That defection rate grew to 21.8% when the iPhone Duo hit the screen.
There was some interest in other Apple products that debuted during the event, as the debuts of the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models saw PornHub’s traffic from Apple device fall 16.9%. Although, by the end of that portion of the program, PornHub’s traffic loss had shrunk to 11.7%.
The debuts of Apple’s new AirPods 5 wireless earbuds and the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 barely cause a ripple in PornHub exits, with percentages basically amounting to rounding errors. It was when the iPhone Duo was unveiled that PornHub saw the aforementioned 21.8% slide in viewing numbers. By the end of the event, only 6.6% of the defectors had hung around for the end.
As you might imagine, Android users weren’t nearly as excited about the Apple event or the iPhone Duo, as PornHub says Android traffic remained close to average throughout the event. However, during the iPhone Duo portion of the program, 5% of defectors were using an Android device.
