Best Buy Stops Shipping MacBook Air, Apple Stores Low On Stock – Refresh Coming Very Soon!

While many have been expecting a refresh of the MacBook Air for some time now, Best Buy may have confirmed that the refresh will occur sooner rather than later. The massive online retailer has halted the shipping on current MacBook Air models, fueling suspicions that new models are coming soon.

The below image from Best Buy’s website shows that the current stock MacBook Air models are unavailable for shipping from BestBuy.com at the moment. This is a strong indication that they are about to receive new stock, and have likely either shipped their current inventory of MacBook Airs back to Apple, or have run out and are unable to order any more.

Additionally, I have called around to the Apple Retail Store in my area, as well as several Apple Authorized Service Providers, all of who have confirmed that they are either out of stock or low on stock on most MacBook Air models.

This fits in well with recent rumors about the MacBook Air being released in Early July, perhaps (even likely) alongside the release of Mac OS 10.7 Lion. Personally, I’m very, very ready for the new MacBook Airs, and might end up purchasing one of the new models when they become available.

In light of all of this, we strongly advise any of our readers that may be about to make a purchase to wait, and hold off for new models. Even if you aren’t planning to get a new model, the older models will go on sale as refurbished units at significant discounts.
