Apple pundit MG Siegler is reporting that iOS 5 may be getting system-level Twitter integration.
Along with the forthcoming in-house photo uploading service TechCrunch reported on, Twitter may be working with Apple to integrate into iOS 5 much the same way YouTube and MobileMe are available when sharing photos and video.
We’ve heard from multiple sources that Twitter is likely to have a big-time partner for such a service: Apple. Specifically, we’re hearing that Apple’s new iOS 5 will come with an option to share images to Twitter baked into the OS.
This has huge implications for Twitter which could see a massive explosion in growth given the iOS installed base is over 160 million devices. This integration could also be a big win for consumers as a replacement for insanely expensive unlimited text messaging plans. Here’s hoping this rumor is true. We shall see next Monday.

Definitely excited to see the 5th implementation of iOS. Lets hope for the best on this one!
The only thing I can think of that I want in the new iOS 5 is the ability to create your own TEXT/SMS tones and assign them to different contacts.
